Just as there are homes made of brick, stone, wood, and stucco, the same basic options exists for your outdoor kitchen design. Some of the more popular options are as follows:
Stucco: Comes in numerous colors and finishes. It is an excellent choice that goes well with many backyards. Affordable, and very durable, it can match almost any exterior and is fairly easy to apply with a little research for the do-it-yourselfer.
Wood: Wood can be used for the face of your outdoor kitchen and then painted to match your house or any accent color, just be sure to use pre-treated lumber because of the elements it will encounter as it provides the best lifespan for your kitchen.
Porcelain Tile: An excellent choice for countertops, porcelain tile is also excellent for the façade. It is available in a wide variety of colors, sizes and trim. Porcelain is perfectly suitable for outdoors, yet beware, ceramic tile is not suitable for most outdoor situations, especially those with freezing temperatures.
Cultured Stone or Brick: Cultured stone or Brick are manufactured products made to replicate natural stone and brick. They are lightweight and typically don’t require a footing (thick cement base). The other advantage is that cultured stone and brick cost less and come in more varieties and color choices than natural stone.
Natural Stone or Brick: While often the priciest choice, natural stone and/or brick provide the ultimate in longevity and looks for an entertaining area. A footing is typically required to withstand the weight.
